Bombay High Court Bharti 2025:
The Bombay High Court (BHC) has announced a new recruitment drive to fill vacancies for the posts of Chief Editor, Editor, Deputy Editor, and Assistant Editor on a contract basis. Eligible candidates must submit their applications online through the official website: https://bombayhighcourt.nic.in/.

A total of 12 vacancies have been advertised by the Bombay High Court Recruitment Board, Mumbai, in the November 2025 notification. Candidates are advised to carefully read the detailed advertisement (जाहिरात PDF) before applying.

The last date to submit the application is 6th December 2025, up to 5:00 PM.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility (शैक्षणिक पात्रता / पात्रता)

1. Chief Editor

Must be a Retired District Judge (preferably Super-time/Selection Scale) / Retired Secretary (Legislation)
OR
Must hold a Law Degree and be a practising Advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts for not less than 10 years.
Period served as Public Prosecutor / Government Advocate / Judicial Officer will be included while calculating practice experience.

2. Editor (English & Marathi)

Must be a Retired District Judge / Retired Secretary (Legislation) / Retired Principal or Professor of Law College / Retired Officer of Law Commission in equivalent Super-time scale / State Legal Advisor.
Must have retired within the last 5 years on superannuation with no post-retirement assignment.
Not eligible: Voluntary retirement, compulsory retirement, dismissed, discharged, or prematurely retired candidates.
OR
Must hold a Law Degree and be a practising Advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts for not less than 7 years.
Period served as Public Prosecutor / Government Advocate / Judicial Officer will be included.

3. Deputy Editor

Must be a Retired Judicial Officer, retired within the last 5 years with no post-retirement assignment.
Not eligible: Voluntary retirement, compulsory retirement, dismissed, discharged, prematurely retired candidates.
OR
Must hold a Law Degree and be a practising Advocate in the Bombay High Court or subordinate courts for not less than 5 years.
Period served as Public Prosecutor / Government Advocate / Judicial Officer will be included.

4. Assistant Editor

Must be a Retired Judicial Officer, retired within the last 5 years with no post-retirement assignment.
Not eligible: Voluntary retirement, compulsory retirement, dismissed, discharged, or prematurely retired candidates.
OR
Must hold a Law Degree, passed each exam in the first attempt, and the final year (LLB/LLM) must be passed with minimum 55% marks.

Salary Details

Chief Editor: ₹1,50,000 per month
Editor: ₹1,00,000 per month
Deputy Editor: ₹80,000 per month
Assistant Editor: ₹60,000 per month

Age Limit

Chief Editor: 45 to 70 years
Editor: 35 to 45 years
Deputy Editor: 35 to 45 years
Assistant Editor: 21 to 40 years
